My blog is going all crazy with photobucket stuff, thanks to my reader who helped me realize it was looking terrible. My other blog is too, and I am not sure why. I don't even use photobucket at all. As most of you have noticed, I've had to scale back a little on the giveaways. Sales are definitely down across the board. Hopefully they will pick back up again for the holidays. I'm still trying to make my goal of 10,000 in sales by March 1st. I'm at 4200 right now, so it's a long way to go. I've earned more customers from our blog readers, and hope to see that increase. We sell all of the basics you buy from the store on a regular basis. Shampoo, shaving gel, deoderant, hair products for every need, makeup, and more. I'm looking for your ideas on how to increase sales. I've tried one online party so far. I thought about a frequent shoppers club, where if blog followers spend a certain amount each month they earn prizes.

I am now #7 in sales for my district for all new reps, one little step up from last campaign where I was #8 !!!!

I should add our sales district includes parts of SC in the upstate, and two different counties in NC. We have hundreds of new reps :) It's exciting to even just be in the top 10 for new sales rep. Last campaign I was number 8, now I'm number 7. My goal is to be #1 now please go buy some AVON, or in the case of some of you more AVON!!!

I just got all the new items I ordered for some giveaways in the mail today. It's fun to open up the boxes with orders, kind of like Christmas except that it's not for me. Well of course I always order a few things for me. For myself I got the following items:

I am so excited I have been named #8 for top sales for new representatives in my sales district. It's a big district with several counties in NC and one in SC. Thanks to all of you who have ordered from me, or had family members/friends order.
I am so happy to find this out as selling AVON is my fun job. Who wouldn't want to try out makeup, skincare, and all the other products for fun? Not to mention getting a great discount on anything and everything I want to try. I also love to give away products to my friends and family for them to try and enjoy.
A little background to my start with AVON, I was forever buying the products from a co-worker. Until I saw a brochure last fall I thought AVON was for old ladies, I really and sincerely did. It turns out it's definitely not and I enjoy using alot of the products they sell. In April I decided to start selling. The timing was definitely questionable as it was the busiest time of the year for me with my regular full time job in education. I am always up for a challenge so I dove right in and got started.
It was a rough start as I have always thought of myself as a friendly person but not very outgoing. You can't make it in sales without being outgoing and over the past couple of months I have really felt alot more confident about selling AVON. I have tried so many of the products, given them to friends and family to try, blog readers, and felt that their products really are worth buying. Just a heads up that I will be doing alot of giveaways with the results from your survery that you all participated in for me. Thanks to everyone who did so, I realize alot of you all are on vacation, very busy, or just lacking time.

I have already start working on my next AVON order to get alot of the sample sizes of the skincare products for anti-aging ready to giveaway. They come in packs of 10 so that's usually enough to decide if you like a product or not. Since there are so many we'll start with that, see what reviews we get and go from there.
I have to say this is the youngest group I've seen want to try so many anti-aging products but in my early 30s, I am just as guilty. I have really fair skin and it's often dry so I'm always thinking ahead to my future. My mom has the youngest looking skin so I'm hoping I'm half as lucky and I'll be a happy woman. I told her I'm trying out the crows feet product this week and next to review it. She just laughed but I do have the tiniest little lines starting to show up and I want them to go right back where they came from and disappear.
I will also be ordering some of the fragrance samples and seeing what people like or don't like. I have found certain fragrances appeal to the younger crowd and more to the grandma age. Then there is the fragrance options that are in between. I am also trying alot of the MARK products we sell in our brochures.

Return Policy Issue with online company.

I recently ordered a bag from a company I found promoted on someone's blog. I received the bag and was so excited to get it. I took it out of the box and found it to be something I didn't like at all. The bag had a pattern on it. Any place the pattern had seams, the pattern didn't line up or match. It looks really tacky. I emailed the store owner asking about their return policy. I was told that anything personalized couldn't be returned. She said the pattern not matching up isn't a defect of the bag that's just how it is. I would have never ordered anything where the pattern doesn't match up along the seams. I don't like anything I own to look tacky. I can't imagine carrying this bag around and it looking like this. She offered me 25% off my next order as a consolation. Now I'm stuck with this bag that I absolutely hate.
I can't use it at all or give it away because none of my friends or family would care for it. It also has my first initial on it so it couldn't just go to anyone if I wanted it to. I can't imagine having any business where you would sell things and not disclose that it's a possiblity that the patterns will not line up right or match. That's just not good business. At AVON we have a 100% return rate for unhappy customers which makes it a company I strongly believe in, if the customer isn't happy then it's not okay. Any suggestions on what to do? I can't see ordering another item from this store. I am just really disappointed the bag looked so cute online.

Gift idea for newylwed one year anniversary

I need some help with a giftI have to buy soon. My sister and her husband are going to be celebrating their one year anniversary in early July. I have no idea what to give them, I think for the 1st year you are supposed to give a gift of paper. They are more into practical gifts but I wanted to get something with that was somewhat sentimental. I still have a wedding invitation I wanted to do something with for them. Any ideas?

They love the outdoors and all kinds of sports. I think my sis and I are secretly not related as I can't stand to get dirty or sweat. That's really a nice way to put how much effort I will put into not doing either. The exception is if I'm on a beach somewhere, then glowing not sweating is allowed.

Send me your ideas :) I love to find the perfect gift and I've been looking for 3 weeks already and can't make up my mind.

1. IDEAL Shade Concealer Stick: In the color medium works perfect cover dark circles under eyes. I have very fair skin and this color is great to cover up anything and everything.
2. Glazewear Eye Diamonds in Turquoise Dream and Pink Sugar: Great eyeshadow last all day.
3. Glazewear Lip Color: in Tickled Pink
4. Jet Femme Eau de Toilette Spray and Shower Gel: Smells like amber, grapefruit, and exotic wood. Goes on sale alot :)
5. Driven: Men's line of cologne smells great, something you'll love your man to wear without him feeling like he's got on something that's cologne.

When dropping off brochures early this morning to a daycare, one of the little boys standing next to a teacher said the funniest thing. He must have been about 2 years old. He heard me say I sell avon and I'm known as the AVON Lady. He goes "I be AVON Lady." I had to hold in the laughter he was so serious. He tried to reach for my bag of samples to see what was in there, it was so cute. All I could think was please don't go home and tell your parents this, it's just not going to go over so well. Then I started thinking, I bet this toddler would outsell all of us in a heartbeat.

Good news

Today I received great news, a daycare that is really popular in our area, their director is going to allow me to leave brochures there for all the employees and moms. This will be great for my business as alot of moms go there every single day. In return I am going to donate a prize for the director to have her employees draw for as a thanks to all of them. I am hoping this is the beginning of my business really starting to build.

I also ordered alot of samples to giveaway with my next brochures, so far perfume samples, lipstick samples, and tiny bubble bath samples. Any feedback on what else women want to try with makeup? Their eye makeup samples is very limited only 3 choices. I thought about some skin stuff, they have great foundation. Lotion is another though as well as shampoo and conditioner. I am thinking about having nail polish as well since I can get a regular bottle for a dollar to give out. Let me know your thoughts .

This weekend I spent time passing out brochures to different businesses. One place I went in the lady was so friendly she took one for her and the other employees, and offered to put some out for all their customers. Other places were a little hesitant to take some. I'm definitely looking for more creative ways to get my customers. I've read alot about how to get more and all the advice and suggestions I've taken to heart. I am starting to realize that it's definitely something where you just have to put yourself out there. The more times you ask to leave brochures, the easier it gets. I've also made it a point to mail brochures out to more family members. This has helped a great deal. Okay nothing too exciting for this post.

Product Review with new Favorites by AVON

Now that I've been selling AVON a few months, I've found a couple new favorites to add.

1. ANEW clinical eye lift: great for days when I've not gotten enough sleep, have puffy eyes, or want to just look more alert. It works wonders, I was very unsure how great it would be. Now it's a daily must. It's on sale this month :)
2. Pure Fragrance Mist: By MARK, this is a very light and fresh smelling scent to wear. Great for work and just daily activities. Reminds me of a version of Ivory soap but more flirty.
3. Spotlight Perfume: My new favorite perfume which can be applied very little and last all day long. Very flirty scent to it, smells wonderful.
4. Planet Spa conditioning eye gel: Very soothing after a long day at work or trip. Feels very cool and leaves you feeling relaxed.
5. Advance Technique 2 in 1 Healthy shine shampoo and conditioner: This has replaced my old shampoo/conditioner. Very similiar to Pantene and you can usually find a deal on it in one catalog or the next. I love how soft my hair feels and it really works on hair that is colored and often dry at times.
6. Advance Technique Intense Repair Treatment: If you add any color to your hair, this is a lifesaver. I'm always trying to go a little more blonde that I should and this has made my hair feel so much better. It was always dry before and I couldn't find anything to fix the problem this cheap.
7. Jillian Dempsey for AVON Professional Eyeshadow: I love this because it comes with a base shadow to apply and then two colors. Very easy for someone like me who is not the most skilled at putting on eye makeup. I've gotten lots of compliments on this.
8. SuperFULL Waterproof Mascara: Gives you great eyelashes, last through weddings and other events where tears are bound to fall.
9. Color trend mini eye liners: Usually just 99 cents or 79 cents I can't live without one of these in each of my purses and my desk drawer at work. So easy to apply and just a steal pricewise.

I plan on including alot of these in my giveaways that I will be participating in in the next couple of months. I think the best part of my job is getting to order samples to try and seeing what I really like. I actually ended up doing much better on my last order than I thought I would. Several new customers. Took the step of putting together some gift bags with samples and catalogs to give to businesses. It was a little nervewracking but I got up the courage to approach a few. Hopefully, I can keep the courage up and get alot more business this way. One office I went to even said they had been looking for an AVON lady. I hope this works out. I think sometimes I forget how shy I can be about approaching people I don't know .I know AVON has great products at excellent prices so that helps alot to be confident in the product I'm selling.
I ordered some tshirts to promote my sales as well so hopefully that gets alot more attention. I think the real key is just taking the risk and approaching people. Just about everyone seems to know what AVON is, whether or not they have been asked to buy any seems to be the question of the day. Most haven't so here's to hoping I get some decent sales out of this next campaign.

Building Customer Base

Building my customer base has been a rough start. I started with friends and coworkers from different jobs. I tried leaving catalogs with my business card in my neighborhood. So far I've averaged about $150 for each of my first two campaigns. I've ordered more brochures this time around) time (100 this , working on some letters to businesses, and ordered some samples to give away to new customers. I created a frequent shopper loyalty card for customers to get 5.00 off a $20.00 purchase after they have bought 10 items during the months of April though May. Working on printing some coupons. My AVON website is up and running. I have enjoyed getting a discount purchasing different items and have quickly developed a love for 10 products. I listed them on the right side of my blog.
